He is a lyricist, singer and writer. Babu believes that great changes in any society can be only based on and motivated by cultural activism. Starting with the debut album 'Sonkho Bajuk' he has four solo albums in total, the other three are 'Chokh Veshe Jay Jole', 'Ochena Shomoy' and 'Ondho Teerandaj'. As a believer of collective effort Babu along with five others have formed the musical band 'Mrittika'. Mrittika has successfully launched its first studio album 'Dukkho Koro na, Bacho' in 2012. The band is hopeful about releasing its second album 'Voy Nei' in 2013. Apart from performing in live shows and recorded programs with Mrittika Babu is writing his regular column 'Dahokaler Kotha' in the Daily Prothom Alo and hosting a weekly interview in 'Shokal Belar Roddur' aired by Banglavision.
